Organizational Context and Scope

Under the overall supervision of the Deputy Regional Director - Management (DRD-M) in Dakar, and the direct supervision of the Project Finance and Budget Officer - Migrant Protection, Return and Reintegration Programme for Sub-Saharan Africa (MPRR-SSA) in close coordination with the Senior Regional Programme Coordinator (MPRR-SSA), the Finance Officer (MPRR-SSA) will assist the Project Finance and Budget Officer (MPRR-SSA) in the programmes budget, accounts, and financial reports of all the implementing Country Offices (COs), provide support to the programmatic unit of the MPRR-SSA team in the areas of financial monitoring and reporting. The Finance Officer (MPRR-SSA) will work closely with the European Commission Compliance Unit in IOM Global Office Brussels, Regional Office, as well as central units at Headquarters (HQ).

The MPRR-SSA is an EU-funded programme that is implemented in 16 countries of sub-Saharan Africa, including Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Cameroon, Chad, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Senegal, Somalia, and Sudan.

Assist the Project Finance and Budget Officer (MPRR-SSA) to monitor and oversee the financial management of all activities, including oversight of financial expenditure and accountability, and undertake financial analysis of all activities in the offices implementing the MPRR-SSA programme.

Assist the Project Finance and Budget Officer (MPRR-SSA) to oversee and coordinate the preparation and review of EU financial reports in accordance with IOM regulations and EU regulations and established procedures.
