Business Development Officer Africa- Energy Access

Duties and

The Business Development Officer Africa will report to the Head of Business Development.

The person appointed to this role will spend the majority of the year at our Africa branch in Dakar - Senegal.

He/she will have the following main duties and

Support proposal development and tender writing on energy access projects in developing countries

Build portfolio of consultancy assignments and EPC projects in the energy sector in Africa in different market segments ( off-grid, grid- connected, C&I)

Create a roster of partners, donors, clients, investors in the continent and feed the network through participation to events, 1-2-1 meetings, workshops, etc.

Engage with local and regional actors such as energy agencies, development programs, financing institutions, cooperation agencies on the purpose of creating partnerships and framework agreements.

Continuously monitor African markets performance, marketing, sales and project delivery.

Establish EnGreen’s Africa Headquarter in Senegal, ensuring office and admin recurring

Essential skills and qualifications

5-7 years in a business development role in energy markets

Advanced degree (Msc/MA) in Engineering/ Economics

Strong experience in renewable energy sector in Sub-Saharan Africa

Knowledge and understanding of the international development and cooperation context

Fluency in English and French

Leadership attitude

Desirable skills

Experience in off-grid energy systems

Experience with key business development/project design tools (offers, theory of change, logical framework, etc.)

Experience in both profit and non-profit sector

Additional language requirement: Portuguese
